I am hoping that David is encouraged by how well Lleyton Hewitt has done at Wimbledon this year. I know they're not friends but he's making a really good comeback from a similar operation to that David had and is playing very well.

- Otherwise, maybe we would've never learned which women players David likes and doesn't like to watch. ;)
Well, I don't watch any WTA, so I can't really say anything about that. But it's interesting to read that he likes watching players, who play well, tactically. Not really surprising maybe but it's interesting to hear that from him.

I like the part about the travelling circus and the clowns. And David's almost philosophical explanation why tennis is also a sport for losers... And yeah, the part about Rafa is nice. :)

Thanks for the translations Julia, they are very good. I really enjoyed reading all the parts. I liked the way he spoke about Rafa, he made me laugh. and I'm not of a fan of the Williams for the same reason, I don't dislike them but I don't enjoy their tennis!

I'm fascinated that he liked watching Schiavone, she's a really feisty competitor that wears her heart on her sleeve. A very colourful character. I like how he adds at the end that it's the same for men's tennis, he wouldn't like watching ball-bashing, that it's not just being against women's tennis.

Personally I find that the Williams sisters these days are decent to watch, and it's not like they play without strategy. Shows how much the game has changed, that there are plenty of women's players that are more ball-bashers than them.

Nice relaxed interview segment, this one. Gives a good feel for life as a professional tennis player. And of course, as David in particular.
