On Course for Washington

(vilasclub.com)

Update (22/07)
The news just came in: On December 8, David is going to play an exhibition match.
A very special exhibition match...
At the Parque Roca.
Against Rafael Nadal.

Edit: Other sources are now saying that this hasn't been confirmed yet. I'll keep you updated.

There's still nothing to be heard from David himself but at least what little can be heard about him from others is positive and suggests that his preparations for Washington at the US hardcourt events are going ahead as planned. On those hardcourts you can see above, at the Vilas Club in Buenos Aires. As Danny Miche (who's not always just the bearer of bad news) just tweeted:
Nalbandian is doing full training at the Vilas Club, tennis and physical, he'll return at the ATP 500 in Washington in two weeks where he's the defending champion
So - about two more weeks of waiting...

  3. I meant the yellow press, where it's not David's training that's being discussed. ;)
It's just a bit frustrating when you're waiting for news and all you get is rumours about who he's spending his nights with. I don't care about his nights or who he spends them with, I'm interested in what he does during the days, at the Vilas Club.

  4. I know what you meant in the first comment haha, the reason I said its good news is that it motivate him to pick up some victories :).

  5. Well, if it's true what they're writing then it's more likely to keep him from training properly - if he's out and about all night... :)

  6. Or give the impression that he's not taking training seriously. In any case, who cares?

  7. No, actually they don't. That was just my personal conclusion.
And as I've said, I'd prefer news of a different kind but there is none.

  15. Its not that far after the DC final, which could be Argentina and Spain.

  16. Though Serbia would be terribly difficult to beat!
Then again, I guess there's a slight chance that Djokovic doesn't play, if it's straight after a Slam.
