Waiting for News about Nice... - Now it's there and it's bad News

Update (10/5)
Last night, it was still just a prediction.
But according to Quique Cano, it's official now and he has that info from Ballero:
Official, Nalbandian is out of Nice and RG [Roland Garros]. "He's ready to come back but it's not advisable to return on clay, best-of-five. He'll come back at Queen's," says Ballero.
Edit: It is official. New post coming soon...

Another week, another clay-court Masters without David but this time, there's a slight change in terms of the rankings - David loses one place and now finds himself at #24.
And that's all there is for me to report at the moment.

But at least it won't be much longer now until there's going to be a decision. Concerning Nice and with it Roland Garros - because if David decides he's not ready to play Nice then he also won't play Roland Garros (for what would be the third year in a row).
And that's how Nice, the surprise addition to David's schedule, has now risen to unexpected importance... I'm expecting David's "verdict" to come in the next couple of days, probably Thursday at the latest.

  15. As far as I can see it's very probably but not clear yet whether Delpo is out of RG. Doesn't have to mean anything for David but maybe Miche is predicting this rather than knowing it 100%.

  16. ya julia, thats exactly what i told andvari 30 seconds ago, hope so

  17. Yeah, could be his frustration about Delpo's injury. Apart from that, he's been saying before that in his opinion, David won't make it to Nice/RG.

  18. then that doesnt change the expectation, not even slightly. We will have to hear it coming out from david's camp, i rather not though :P

  19. I'm definitely going to wait for something official - and I'm not seeing anything official so far.

  20. Okay I hope Miche is wrong. It does seem a bit weird for him to be reporting on Del Potro and David at the same time, and could just be something to do with what he's thinks.

  21. Yeah, I can safely say now that Miche tweeted what he fears is going to happen. There's nothing official yet.

  22. We only hear bad news here from miche. I'm starting to not like the guy. I gotta say though he hasn't been wrong I don't think...

  23. Don't shoot the messenger. ;)

As I've said before, we have to rely on people like Miche, Cano and a couple of others because of the info policy of David and his camp.

  24. Mira, so much for me, thinking I'd get around that one... lol
Yep, I saw it and it's difficult to understand for me because there's a lot of laughter and people talking at the same time...
What David says and I can get:
Tennis is a very individualistic sport, every player has his group, his routines. Which tournaments he likes: the Slams are spectacular, a step above the others in all kinds of ways, the cities spectacular too. Different crowds ar different events, some younger, some older, at IW, where the scenery is spectacular in the desert, crowd is older. He always travels with his team, sometimes also with friends but travelling with more people gets difficult in terms of logistics. (Then it's about playing ping pong, later on.) About Nole - you either like him or you don't, a showman, the others are not as outgoing, but why not. (Not sure David knows about the impersonation Nole did of him...) Difficult to get along with players from the nordic countries, different culture, much colder. He doesn't think of himself as an idol but gets a lot of positive feedback in public, because of DC, he thinks. DC, Argentina always had and still has chances, had great teams in the past. Now, if he and Delpo are both in good form they can win at home and away, play four good singles rubbers and they can win DC.
    - That was before the latest developments, of course.

  25. Damn it, Queens is a long way.

  26. What's worse is that QC/Wimbledon is fairly close to DC. If he pulls the same trick like last year...

    ReplyDelete
  27. lol with tears. I hope not.
And now let the Eurovision Action begin, the cable guy just left, i had my European satellite fixed.

    ReplyDelete
  28. It's on TV here 24/7 and I'm trying my best to avoid it... lol

  29. Very bad news.Tough season so far.

    ReplyDelete
  30. More and more like last year... We'll see if the similarities continue. I hope not.
