Here's what those two groups will look like:

Saturday, Dec 19

Sunday, Dec 20
Final, 7:30pm local

In other words, David won't play his first match until Friday night.
Photos from the press conference and more info soon...

For the moment, here's a little snippet of David at today's press conference (thanks, Tamar), talking about the tournaments he'll play next year. Acapulco is on that list, as well...

And here he is, posing for photos at the stadium, together with Baghdatis, Monaco, Gaudio and Moya...

He looks really good here.

But, why does this man use the same shirt all the time? I think if he search for pictures of him with "normal clothes" we'll find him using the same shirts over and over. I can name the beige one (that really looked good on him due o his hair and eyes) and the brown one. Now this is the fourth time we saw him with this shirt.
Men... why most of them are so bah! about their clothes!

If David needs some advice I could help, ejem.....

I found the interview I talked about in another post.
Here's the link to the site

(It's called "Vuelve Nalbandian en la copa Peugeot")

So you could post the video here too

Looks like a good draw. If David plays like he did in San Juan, he could get three matches in this week. Glad Gonzo is on the other side. It does look like David is bigger in the arms, shoulders and chest. He must have lifted weights during the pause. What do think, Tamar?

On the subject of David's physical condition, it looks like his size is more proportionate-thanks to the weight-training. As to the gut, I don't agree with how that's being addressed. Gain more weight to protect that area? Not a great idea considering the additional health risks. Wouldn't it have been wiser to strengthen the area by developing "washboard" abs? With strong core muscles, the likelihood of acquiring abdominal injuries is reduced due to the additional MUSCLE, not the additional FAT.

We as fans are giving nalbandian alot of pressure, i think. Alright he can do anything when he plays his best tennis. but we must not forget he had a injury. So lets just hope he gets alot of matches under his belt, ofcourse it would be nice for him to win (confidence). but that is not the primary concern. It's diffiecult for hem to win against a gonzales or a baghdatis. If he wins i would be very happy. But David is looking forward, he sees this sort ehibitions as a long term investments that will gain him a slam or a davis cup in the future. So what i'm trying to say is, some people here want david to win everything( including me :P ), But right now it is not possible. so lets hope he adjust very quickly and thats why he plays those exhibitions.

Now I'm so sad, I was hoping he'd play today so I can finally see him play again. I hate time differences :(

John: yeah, you're right! He is bigger in the arms, I think he has more muscles there. You will be able to see that in my photos! :)
And... about his weight, I think he is perfect, he is on his weight. If you are a demanding person (in spanish: exigente), perhaps you will think he must have 2/3 kilos less. But I think that only without one kilo, he would be more perfect than now, and that would be right.

I hardly never talk about his weight, but I think this time it was necessary. Definitely, the TV make him fatter.

what happened to nalbandians official site?

tamar, very nice pitures, i checked ur bewsite, ya he really has more muscles, and his weight looks great here, just 2 more kilos would be perfect.

Noubar said...

btw tamar, where is gonzalez, he wasnt there?

Tamar said...

No, Noubar, Gonzalez didn't go to the press conference. I think he was absent because yesterday, if i'm not wrong, he played an exhibition against Cuevas in Montevideo (Uruguay).

Tiffany : I never undertood that theory either. But that was what his former PF said, and the weird is that he didn't get more problems in that zone. And when he was thiner, that was when the injuries of him started (for example the hip problem? he said he started to feel bad after winning the MS. The thing it made ten times worst was that match against Soderling when he played because the argentine team almost begged to him to do it... because David said he wasn't sure he could play)

DAvid's body and how different he looks with normal clothes (he always, always looks thin) than with the Yonex he uses to play is a mistery... I think we'll find life is other planets before knowing the answer of that ;) .
But he looks really well. I hate that shirt (I don't think my grandpa would use somehting like that!), but he looks good

Tamar, that is interesting what you said about the TV making him look fatter, as we had wondered about that. As you were there to see him (lucky thing!) you are in the perfect position to compare.

Sorry to go on about David's weight yet again!

I forgot.... Thanks a lot for the pictures , TAMAR!!!!!!

Now, I don't think Hewitt would want bump shoulders now with him... lololol ;)
