Well, see you again in 2010. Hopefully with a healthy David back on the team.
Update
During an interview with La Nacion after last weekend's tie, Tito Vázquez was asked about what it will take for Argentina to eventually win the Davis Cup...
Q: How to find a way of making that dream of winning the Davis Cup come true?
Vázquez: Having Juan Martin, who's twenty years of age and leading the way and with several other players who are there to help, I believe that Argentina can win the Davis Cup. We have to wait.
Q: Is it logical to think that with the team we have and Nalbandian, Argentina will have a strong team?
Vázquez: Without a doubt. David has already shown that he's a first-class Davis Cup player. This series, played on the kind of fast surface he likes, would have been different, had he been there, for sure. I want him to recover the best way and that we'll be able to add him to the Argentine team as we expect to do.

Indeed, let's hope things look very different in a year from now.
Well, if I were David, a naughty little part of me would secretly be a bit pleased that they weren't still in this year's competition (without me).
But I'm sure David is a better person than I am, and wouldn't think anything like that at all.
No, of course not! ;)
Well, I'll admit that for my part I wasn't really, fully, completely heartbroken to see the Argentine team lose...
I agree with Israbraq...it's obvious that David is indispensable for the team so David must be proud of it...the team can't make it happen without him...everybody must recognize it now...so maybe this lose made David's heart sing...
Just read a brief inteview about the DC weekend with Delpo (Óle). He doesn't mention David's absence as having been a factor. But I think he's right in pointing out that Argentina could use a fixed doubles team.
See Clarin of today, Dr Ruiz Cotorro met David and is happy about evolution. I'm glad to read that, it's encouraging for the future
Thanks, tennisace.
I'll have a look and translate it.
