
The Olympic Tennis Event, as it's officially called, will be held at the all new Olympic & Paralympic Tennis Centre, merely a kilometre (or less than a mile) away from the Olympic village.
Play will begin on Sunday, August 10.
The men's double final will take place on Saturday, August 16.
The men's single final on Sunday, August 17.
From Day 1 (first Sunday) until Day 4 (Tuesday), matches will be played in two sessions. A day session from 10.30 am until 2.30 pm local time (GMT+8) and a night session from 5 pm until 11 pm. Starting with Day 5 (Wednesday) matches will begin at 4 pm.
According to the entry list at the ITF website, David will be seeded seventh.
He will also play doubles with Guillermo Canas.

Nope. Seventh if you count down the players from Federer. (Andy Roddick won't be there.)
The numbers don't show the seeds but the ranking on that page.
So unless officials in Shanghai don't decide to emulate Wimbledon seeding policies (i.e. make up their own), David should be seed no. 7.
Oh, I see. His position is given as 8 but he is the 7th player in the list. I'm confusing ranking and seeding.
