(Copa Telmex/Sergio Llamera)
The following quotes I've taken from a new interview (15/02/2010) David gave La Nacion...

(Laura Cano/La Nacion)
Auckland and its consequences...
I felt ready to play. That injury was a setback for me because I had to stop playing for about 15 days. Now I have to come back on a surface that I haven't trained on in a while and which isn't the one I like. It's also not the best for my hip, because of the sliding, because the rallies are longer and you have to work harder.
Goals for the Copa Telmex...
I want to play a couple of matches and feel good, getting into a rhythm. I need to play, to enjoy it, finish the matches and then get up the next day feeling good so that I can continue to play. In Argentina, I always want to win but it would be madness to become the champion here after [having been away for] nine months.
The fitness question...
I have to play to see [how fit I am]. I couldn't tell you right now and I'm not even going to find out at this tournament. The stress of playing a match cannot be compared to anything else. Then, for the first half of the year I won't be able to play more than three weeks in a row.
Future goals...
First, I'm going to adjust to the circuit again. Then, if I'm doing well, it's clear that the goals will be great ones.
Would being ranked #50 be enough...
No, to keep playing, I'll have to be inside the top 25. I want to play the big events, be seeded, go deep at those tournaments.
The weight question...
With me, it's like this. If I win, I'm thin. If I lose, I'm fat. I don't walk around with my weight records under my arm.
Davis Cup...
I always want to play. The point is, if I have to play three rubbers that would be madness. With Juan Martin there, it would've been ideal. I'm coming back after a very long pause and I don't know where I stand. It's completely uncertain how well I'll be able to do. After two weeks of playing, even though it's not ideal, I'll have at least some sort of idea.
